Friday was Black
The day started out promising…a family brunch with my mom, dad, brother, Ali and Maya. We went to The Blvd in Beverly Hills. The city was beautiful with all the Christmas decorations. This is the Christmas tree in the BH parking structure of all places…
The entire parking lot was decorated better than my house has ever been.
The hotel was beautiful too…I loved this centerpiece:
My mom explained that I could easily replicate this at home if I bought the silver vase at Pottery Barn and the silver flowers at Michael’s and then fresh roses, but it seemed like way too much work and we both knew I’d never make it happen.
My mom asked if she’d be on the blog so here you go Mom:
This was the only picture I took today that came out fuzzy. Naturally its the only picture that none of us are blinking in.
Maya decided to pick today to be the most misbehaved she’s ever been. Seriously, in her whole entire life she hasn’t been as naughty as she was today. I think I said: “Maya if you don’t stop it right now I am going to lose my mind,” at least 5 times today. I wasn’t as concerned about losing my mind as I was shooting myself in the head.
To distract herself Maya decided to strangle her dad:
Better him than the defenseless penguin though:
I was so mad I told her she couldn’t watch TV and then I kicked myself because I knew that I was really only punishing myself. I look forward to that peaceful 30 minutes more than anyone should. So its 7pm right now and I just told her to go to bed instead. I’ll definitely get a lot more peace and quiet tonight but its a trade-off because then the whole thing starts again tomorrow. The only difference is that we’ll be starting at the crack of dawn.
Wish me luck.
